We are delighted to share our Agency’s renewed Strategic Plan, which will guide our work here at the Children’s Aid Society of Toronto for the next 18-24 months. This updated roadmap supports our vision of “a city where children are safe, families are strong and communities are supported,” and reflects our commitment to enhancing the work we do. With a clear direction and focus, we are eager to embark on this journey, reinforced by a set of strategic priorities that encapsulate our dedication to improved Services and supports, collaboration and partnerships.

At the heart of our renewed Strategic Plan lie three core Strategic Pillars that will shape our path forward. Firstly, we are committed to “Strengthening Client-Centred Services and Supports.” We want to provide client-centred services and supports that incorporate the voices of children and youth and enable children, youth and families to achieve good outcomes. Through continuous feedback and engagement, we will strive to evolve and enhance our work.

Secondly, “Working Collaboratively” is an essential pillar of our strategic approach. We recognize that true progress is only possible when we join forces with our colleagues, stakeholders, partners, and communities. By fostering open dialogue, collaboration and partnership, we can pool our collective knowledge and resources to address complex challenges effectively. Together, we will build a more cohesive, interconnected network of supports and resources for those we serve. Lastly, we are committed to “Championing Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion.” Our Agency will continue to pursue a culture of Equity, Diversity and Inclusion to eliminate disparity and disproportionality in Service outcomes. We are dedicated to cultivating an environment that embraces different perspectives and inclusivity.

Also embedded within the renewed Strategic Plan are our seven refined Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), designed to measure our progress against benchmarks. These KPIs will act as our compass, guiding us toward our desired outcomes and allowing us to make informed, data-driven decisions.

“With our Agency’s focus on transparency and accountability, we will continually revisit our Strategic Plan priorities and KPIs to evaluate our performance and adapt our strategies to stay on course and improve the services and supports we provide to the families we serve,” said Lisa Tomlinson, Interim CEO, CAST. “We look forward to keeping our community apprised of our progress along the way.”

As we set forth to deliver this plan over the next 18-24 months, we extend our thanks and gratitude to our CAST Board of Directors, Strategic Leadership Team and all of our partners and stakeholders who contributed to its development. Your collective insights, dedication, and passion have been instrumental in shaping this forward-looking roadmap. Together, we are poised to steward change and continuously enhance the work that we do.
