The Children’s Aid Society of Toronto continues to stand in solidarity and support of 2SLGBTQ+ communities in Toronto and everywhere. We condemn all acts that negatively impact individuals from these communities, including our staff, community members and the children, youth and families that we serve.
In efforts to support and affirm the identities of those we serve, CAST offers programs and services that are designed to support children and youth and their families who are members of 2SLGBTQ+ communities. You can learn more about our Out and Proud program here.
Additionally, we provide a variety of training and resources to help staff learn more about promoting and providing an inclusive environment for everyone, inside and outside of our organization. These resources include the introduction of a new Sexual Orientation, Gender Identity and Gender Expression (SOGIE) Framework to support staff and the work they do with the children, youth and families we serve.
