Foster Parents receive a variety of supports to help them nurture and care for a child or youth who lives in their home.

At the Children’s Aid Society of Toronto (CAST), our Foster Parents are assigned a Foster Care Support Worker who works with them to develop a personalized plan for continued training and support. We recognize the importance and benefits of ongoing learning and offer Foster Parents regular workshops and courses to enhance their knowledge and expand their skill sets.

Foster Parents also have access to:

  • 24/7 support services
  • Foster Parent Association membership to connect and learn from and with fellow Foster Parents
  • Daily, non-taxable reimbursement for children and youth including cost of food and groceries, clothing and personal care items, recreation and transportation
  • Coverage of child or youth’s health and dental costs
  • Relief/respite coverage

If you are interested in becoming a Foster Parent, please call or email us to learn more.
