The Children’s Aid Society of Toronto (CAST) is proud to be recognized again this year as one of Greater Toronto’s Top Employers for 2026. This marks the 14th year that our Agency has received this distinction which highlights organizations that set the benchmark for workplace excellence across the region. Employers are evaluated on eight key criteria: workplace; work atmosphere and social environment; health, financial and family benefits; vacation and time off; employee communications; performance management; training and skills development; and community involvement.

At CAST, we are committed to building a workplace that empowers our staff, strengthens our services, supports organizational resiliency, and reflects the communities we serve. Over the past year, we’ve taken meaningful steps to reinforce these foundations and create more opportunities for collaboration and engagement across our Agency.

Some of the initiatives that contributed to this recognition include:

  • Enhanced employee engagement through the development of our new Strategic Plan, shaped by staff input across all Departments.
  • Growth of our Employee Resource Groups, expanding from four to eight to better reflect the diversity of our workforce.
  • Commitment to inclusion and equity, including the creation of our Expanding the Circle SOGIE Framework to strengthen services for 2SLGBTQ+ children, youth and families.
  • Increased accessibility and wellness supports, such as achieving Rick Hansen Foundation Accessibility Certification for our Isabella office and introducing Sensory and Wellness Rooms.
  • Improved communication and community connection through our new bilingual CAST website and the relaunch of our Speaker’s Bureau presentation offering (link to the Speakers Bureau page).

“This recognition reflects the passion, professionalism and commitment of our staff, who bring our mission to life every day,” says Colin Hill, Chief Human Resources Officer at CAST. “We are proud to foster a workplace that values inclusion, collaboration and continuous learning to support our employees in making a real difference in the lives of children, youth and families.”
