As we head into the summer months, the Children’s Aid Society of Toronto is pleased to offer a free virtual training series designed to support the safety and well-being of children and youth in our communities.

Safe Camps: Duty to Report is a virtual workshop tailored for summer camp staff and others who work directly with children and youth. The sessions are open to camps and programs across Toronto and aim to equip staff with the knowledge and tools needed to recognize signs of abuse and neglect, understand their duty to report, and learn how to work alongside child welfare professionals to keep kids safe.

Each session will cover:

  • Types of abuse and neglect

  • Roles and responsibilities of adults working with children and youth

  • When and how to contact a child welfare agency

  • How we can work together to support and strengthen families

Participants can register individually, or programs may choose to stream the session for a group. Each workshop will include time for Q&A, and we welcome questions in advance to tailor the discussion to your team’s needs.

Together, we can help ensure all children, youth and families experience a safe, supported and connected summer.
