As October begins, so does Recognition Month at the Children’s Aid Society of Toronto (CAST). This annual tradition is our dedicated time to celebrate the incredible work of our staff and to reflect on our shared commitment to children, youth and families across the city.

Every day, our staff play an essential role in strengthening partnerships, supporting families, and driving our vision and mission forward. The numbers speak for themselves: each year, CAST supports more than 20,000 families across the Greater Toronto Area and responds to over 40,000 calls to our Service line. These numbers highlight the extraordinary impact of our employees’ collective work.

This year, we are proud to recognize staff who have achieved between 5 and 35 years of service with CAST. In 2025, this includes 6 staff at 5 years, 30 staff at 10 years, 9 staff at 15 years, 17 staff at 20 years, 30 staff at 25 years, 4 staff at 30 years, and 1 staff at 35 years.

As shared by our Chief Human Resources Officer, Colin Hill, “We extend our thanks to all staff for your commitment, resilience and compassion. Your dedication continues to strengthen our Agency and the communities we serve.”

Recognition Month is also a chance to look ahead. The impact of CAST depends on the expertise, diversity, and collaboration of our workplace.
